My
six-year-old niece asked me the other day if I knew how to drive.
I
explained to her that I don't drive because I am legally blind.
"Yeah,
I get that," Ainsley said. "But do you KNOW HOW TO drive?"
I told
her that technically, yes, I did know how to drive. When I could see, I used to drive. I had a driver's
license, I even drove a manual transmission.
She
shook her head. She didn't know what a manual transmission was, nor did she
care about that right now.
Ainsley
just wanted to know if I knew how to drive AND if I would teach her when she
got older.
I
thought about it for a moment.
Absolutely.
I will teach you how to drive, Ainsley.
